I like the look of the filters, but the free starter tier starts to feel small once you want HSL, grain control, or more film-style options. The community side is nice if you want to share, but I mostly wanted editing. It is easy to try and easy to outgrow.
I made one preset for a weekend photo set and applied it as a starting point to every image. The colors stayed consistent without making each photo look identical.
The editing tools have a softer feel than heavy retouching apps. I use presets as a starting point, then adjust color and texture until the photo still looks like mine. Collage and camera extras are useful, though I pay more attention to the renewal date when testing membership features.
The free tools are polished, but I hit membership prompts sooner than expected when I tried HSL and extra film presets. I would rather see the paid label before opening a tool.
VSCO works well when I want consistent photo style without spending too much time on each image. The free filters cover basics, but advanced tools sit behind the paid plan. I would rather have a clearer split between editing-only use and the creator community features.
Still one of the nicest filter apps on Android.
